IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ROYAL SALUTE
When it comes to spirits, Scotch Whisky is the silver haired gentleman in the center of the room whose impeccable refinement and taste commands attention, and -
"...in this club of refined gentlemen, Royal Salute's 21 Year Old Snow Polo Edition reigns king."
To mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and the 21 gun salute that honored her, Royal Salute starts where other whiskeys end at 21 years old. However, the aged nature and Royal history of this new expression developed by Master Blender Sandy Hyslop and endorsed by former England Polo Team Captain and Royal Salute World Polo Ambassador Malcom Borwick are only a few of the Royal Salute Snow Polo Edition's refined qualities.
Known as the 'King of Whiskey,' Royal Salute has a long-standing affinity and history with Polo, also known as the 'Sport of Kings,' which it has supported through international tournaments worldwide for over a decade. In celebration of this tradition, Royal Salute introduced the first ever blended grain whiskey in their collection with 46.5% ABV - the latitude coordinates of the birthplace of snow polo in St. Moritz, Switzerland. This iconic pairing is reflected not only in the essence of the expression, but also in the bottle design itself.
The first striking quality of the Royal Salute's bottle is its hand-made porcelain craftsmanship. While whiskey is traditionally bottled in glass, Royal Salute's 21 Year Old Snow Polo Edition is presented in a masterfully crafted ivory and silver porcelain bottle, featuring players on their horses in a snow capped setting. This elevation in design perfectly embodies the graceful complexity of this expression.
Upon pulling the cork and silver stopper, the nose of Snow Polo Edition rushes in like crisp alpine air with bold flavors bursting to greet the senses. This expression's rich, elegantly layered flavors deliver a burst of warmth to the pallet that smoothens to a velvety honey vanilla flavor with a hint of toasted hazelnuts and marmalade. Overall, this balanced, smooth and sweet finish is best poured over fresh ice and enjoyed as welcoming the start to winter.
Royal Salute is bottled at the Strathisla Distillery - the oldest working distillery in the Scottish Highlands. The distillery itself has retained much of its traditional charm, producing world class spirits since 1953, and its newest expression, The Royal Salute 21 Year Old Snow Polo Edition is now available at select luxury retailers worldwide at an RRP of $155 USD.
