Day four of Afterpay Australian Fashion Week saw the debut of NONPLUS, a menswear collaboration between Tsubi’s Gareth Moody and Ten Pieces’ Maurice Terzini. The runway was held at the iconic Icebergs in Sydney’s world-renowned suburb, Bondi Beach.
The heavy blanket of grey clouds served as the perfect backdrop for Moody and Terzini’s monochrome capsule. The collection is an intentionally small selection of considered pieces that are the designers’ ideal everyday wardrobe.
High waisted trousers are wider, and tailored vests are elongated as these traditionally gendered garments are questioned with NONPLUS’ androgynous shapes. The soft-shouldered black shirt paired with wide-leg pants and boots was the effortless look of the runway.
“The search for the perfect everyday uniform is something that challenges me,” says Co-Founder Gareth Moody. “This collaboration, years in the making, has brought me one step closer. The collection is based on classic men’s styles and silhouettes, bringing both modern lines and classic shapes into focus with a nod to both of our brands’ contemporary tailoring and everyday staples.”
Every piece in NONPLUS’ debut will work with what exists in our wardrobes. As a result, buyers can wear jackets, pants, and vests alike with tees and sweaters we already own, which is positive to note as the world moves into a more shopping-conscious mindset across all industries.
