The show featured structured garments with a uni-sex appeal as hyper-real avatars were superimposed on the runway screens. The androgynous designs were futuristic in color and texture as bold crimson red followed matrix black and a splash of pinks mixed with metallic silver. A standout in textile was the abstract, linear print inspired by a silicon chip.

From start to finish, the collection’s themes of clashing futures, expressionism, and neo-classical virtues affected by ideas of human evolution echo across the industrial warehouse.

In line with the idea of emerging technologies, Avakian has developed an innovative technology that is environmentally friendly as it reduces waste when designing a collection. By 3D scanning a consumers body, measurements are sent to the designer to create tailor-made, personalized garments.

Daniel Avakian is a standout for AAFW 2021. He provides a blueprint of how fashion should operate with his futuristic vision and modern technology to create a chic collection and reduce carbon emissions.
