Last night on Madison Avenue at the Manolo Blahnik boutique in New York, Editor-In-Chief of BOND OFFICIAL Igee Okafor hosted a shopping fete in admiration of its spring 2023 collection.
Special guests like American journalist Amy Fine Collins, Michelin Guide's Edward Barsamian, and more were invited to the location where the room displayed Okafor's curated selection of his favorite ready-to-wear shoes for the upcoming season.
"Growing up watching Sex and The City, I always understood Manolo Blahnik's commitment to contemporary design," Igee Okafor told BOND OFFICIAL. "After being introduced to their men's division a few years ago, I became obsessed with collecting the jeweled buckled loafers. Now I own four pairs. I'm humbled to be hosting tonight, and hopefully, this can be the start of a Manolo Blahnik journey for someone else."
Midway through the fashionable soiree, Andrew Wright, President of the Americas and Chief Commercial Officer at Manolo Blahnik, gave an incisive speech honoring the brand's outlook and excitement about its expanding men's business and the partnership with Igee Okafor and The Macallan.
The spring collection reimagines transitional styles for the modern man seeing the highest level of contemporary craftsmanship for a sandal, loafer, and boot classic. The collection's influences span timeless architecture, Italian Style, and Capri. Neutrals, primary tones, and decorated embellishments, you name it, it's in the collection.
Guests enjoyed specialty cocktails by The Macallan as they rubbed shoulders with the man of the hour as he talked them through the collection and helped with stylish picks for purchase. Attendees included Patrick Janelle, Alexander Julian, Sophie Sumner, James Guiar, Ben Brewster, Serena Goh, Delanique Millwood, Steven Beltrani, and more.
