Last night in the Nolita neighborhood of Manhattan, Zachary Weiss, and The Macallan hosted an intimate dinner party to showcase Torrisi's private dining room and taste The Macallan Double Cask 30-Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Friends of Zachary Weiss and The Macallan, including Ezra J. William, Brendan Fallis, and Parker Kit Hill, assembled at the newest Manhattan restaurant from Major Food Group for a night of first-class recipes and unforgettable interconnection.
The evening began with a cocktail hour spotlighting two signature cocktails created by The Macallan; Uptown and Downtown. Crafted with The 15-Year-Old Macallan Double Cask, Uptown was concocted with Nardini Rabarbaro, Carpano Antica Vermouth, and Angostura Bitters - an established cocktail in its own right. On the other hand, Downtown was designed with the 12-Year-Old Macallan Double Cask fashioned with Merlet Creme de Peche, Lemon Juice, Honey Syrup, Egg White, and Lustau Oloroso Sherry Float.
After guests took their seats in the warmly lit private dining room for dinner, the host addressed the room with the most Zachary Weiss, honoring previous partnerships with The Macallan spanning almost a decade. Weiss also appreciated the continued collaboration and highlighted the significant dining experience at New York’s most sought-after restaurant in a top-tier setting.
Following the speech, The Macallan Ambassador, Molly Melville, led a tasting of the brand’s delicate and sweet 30-year Double Cask. When sipping this beverage, guests anticipated experiencing the scent of a newly made honeycomb, sweet toffee, rich vanilla, red apples, and fig. As for the taste, a harmonious blend of cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, dried fruits, and oak greeted the palate. The decorated menu of Italian dishes for dinner, including Raviolini with Prawns and Saffron, Dover Sole Francese, and Skirt Steak, paired well.
For dessert? Almond Cheesecake and Sicilian Date Cake.
