On the first day of New York Fashion Week: Men’s, Todd Snyder presented his Fall/Winter 2019 runway show. Led by celebrity groomer and Lab Series Ambassador, Jodie Boland, the team of experts groomed each model to create a preppy, nostalgic bad boy look to complement the vintage inspired collection. To achieve a flushed out, bronze-y hallow, and dewy skin that mimics a nostalgic moment, Boland worked with five Lab Series products to clean, refresh, and prime each face. “To clean the face, we used the multi-action face wash and to refresh the face, we used the rescue water lotion which is a fan favorite. To help with tightening the skin, we followed up with the future rescue repair serum. Our main prime product for the models was the age rescue face lotion — it’s a lightweight gel moisturizer that is rich with ginseng, and caffeine to help energize the skin. For the eyes, we applied the age rescue+ eye therapy, followed by a face massage to lift the under eyes.”
It’s important to highlight that men are becoming more receptive to grooming, and learning new techniques on how to take care of their skin. Brands like Lab Series have tapped into the secret of keeping men interested in grooming through education, and experiences at various events — similar to their approach at New York Men’s Day with the "Power Up Your Skin” activation.
Jodie Boland On the future of Men and Grooming:
“I have seen it already change in the last three years, it’s unbelievable. I have been doing grooming for quite a while, and I’ve seen that so many men were so afraid of using skincare products. Not just models, but now everyday men are more receptive to using skincare and taking care of their skin. Skincare is not just a women’s thing because it really doesn’t matter, we all have the same skin. At Lab Series we educate men on the products and how to create their own routine, and men love that especially when they see the difference. So men and grooming is definitely getting better.”
