It’s a Cozy, colorful and deeply creative collection.
The clothes in STAN’s Spring/Summer 2022 presentation exude a certain familial quality to them.

STAN prides itself in using a “sustainable approach to fashion that is focused on improving the planet and passing on the stories of time.”
One benchmark of great design aligns with the idea that anyone can take a look at the work totally unbiased and make a certain connection instantly of how that artisan was able to source their inspiration and bring it to life.
Los Angeles-based STAN designer, Tristan Detwiler already stunned the fashion press virtually with his film for New York Men’s Day last season, so it was equally refreshing to see his talent live during the presentations this season. The work is certainly original and whoever decides to invest in the brand will never see themselves twice over in the room.

One of the most unique overall looks was a matching jacket with shorts done in what seems to be a quilt fabric with spherical and heart shapes placed sporadically throughout. Placed directly alongside the ensemble, we saw a model wearing a jacket assembled from World War 2 duffle and laundry bags, “hand-screen printed with images of San Diego classic skate, surf, and coastal life.” This coat, like many others, are true works of art.

At first glance, one can see right off the bat that the designer was not afraid to use textiles that are both unexpected and quite familiar in order to build a cozy and colorful and deeply creative collection of clothing.

One special highlight from the collection was the footwear; sand-colored slip-on leather shoes that feel close to a mule, done with slips and patches of suede, green, and rust. They look and feel like they’ve been passed down from generation to generation.
